Overall

The Morning

Tuesday dawned fine, with clear skies. The forecast snow had missed this part of Utah.

Chris virtually ready to go, standing by our rental car.

We started as usual, with a joint run down Three Kings and then we split up. Sue stayed down at the bottom for a while; Chris and I headed for the top of the mountain via Eagle, King Con and Silverlode. The snow on that side of the mountain was still frozen .. the grooming machines had broken up the surface but it was hard on the legs .. so we headed for the runs from Pioneer which catch the early morning sun.

We started with Sampson and worked our way systematically along the ridge to Hawkeye. All of the runs were in great condition and we were able to take fast runs down. For all but the last, we cut off through the trees to ski the moguls at the bottom of the Pioneer.

The Mountain Tour

Although we were pretty familiar with Park City, Chris and I decided it would be fun to join the complimentary mountain tour.

There were only three, including the two of us, and the tour comsisted of a great deal of reasonably high speed cruising covering most of the top of the mountain area and stopping at some of the Silver Mining relics, including the Hoist, the site of the original elevator that linked to the skiers railway 1500' below ground.

We finished up at the Mid Mountain, where Sue was waiting.

After Lunch

Sue at the top of Pioneer chair.

We took a run down Mid Mountain all together and the while Sue headed down via the gondola, Chris and I kept the vertical average up with a few more cruising runs.

The first was not quite a cruise. We took Ford Country one of the mogul runs from Prospector lift. Chris didn't like this much, took his time and fell a lot!

On the way back to the resort center, I diverted via the moguls at the bottom of Nail Driver while a very tired Chris settled for the easier PayDay run.

Another outstanding day!
